Indulge Your Senses in the Annapolis Valley

Indulge Your Senses in the Annapolis Valley

May 4 to October 30, 2010

Just an hour west of Halifax, in the heart of Kings County, lays a vast agricultural area.  Indulge your senses!  Whether you are seeking your roots, or country charm, come to Between the Bushes Restaurant in Sheffield Mills, treat your palate to culinary delights fresh from the field to your fork; enjoy an unforgettable night at the historic Silver Shoe B&B, a tastefully restored 1870’s Georgian mansion that will cater to your every comfort.  Harvest your own high bush blueberries at Blueberry Acres (in season).

Take time for a tour of local wineries, including Muir Murray Estate Winery, historic homes, or museums; perhaps enjoy a day of fishing in our rivers or along our coast. Stop at Fox Hill Cheese House and hear how they create a variety of cheeses, yogurts, and Italian style gelato from the milk of their own dairy herds. Visit one of many u-pick farms to choose your fresh, local produce, some organically grown.  Farm markets are easily found in the surrounding communities. Enjoy unique baked creations at Saraj Bakery, where old fashioned value is reflected in hand-made baked European specialties.  Blomidon Nurseries is a retailer of quality nursery, garden and horticultural products.  Visit the Hall’s Harbor area, known for its tides and coastal scenery.  Go further west to the Berwick area for Meadowbrook Farm Meat Market where fresh, homemade and organic meat products are available.  Taste Nova Scotia!
