Featured Author

Glenn Ells is one of the seventh generation of the Ells Family that is farming in Kings County, Nova Scotia.  His ancestor, Joshua Ells, came from Connecticut and settled on Canard Street in 1760.  His mother was born Margaret West.  Both of her parents were descendants of William West, who came to N.S. on the same boat as Joshua Ells and established a farm in Upper Canard.   Glenn is living and farming on part of the original family wood plot in Sheffield Mills.  His keen interest in local and family history provided the foundation for his first book, “Starting Over, Acadians and New England Planters in Nova Scotia in the 1760’s,” an historical romance.
