About the Chef
Steve Riley

Chef Steve Riley joined Between the Bushes restaurant in July 2005. With more than 30 years in the restaurant business, he is an accomplished Chef. Steve received his Red Seal Certification from the Nova Scotia Department of Education. He has owned and managed restaurants from British Columbia to Nova Scotia. His creations have been written up in magazines such as Gourmet, Canadian Living, and where to eat in Canada. He has received rave reviews from food columnist Steve Mahar of the former Halifax Daily News.

Whether it’s an elegant dinner for two or a large group, quality and presentation are always number one priorities at Between the Bushes. Steve has introduced many new tastes to the restaurant among which include the Potato Crusted Baked Salmon, Pear and Ginger Chicken, or for the vegetarian lovers, Curried Veggie over rice. His desserts include the restaurant’s signature dish – blueberry apple crisp, made with local apples and blueberries as well as a silky smooth crème caramel, to name a few.

As a proud member of Taste of Nova Scotia, Steve uses fresh local ingredients in designing the menu. Our menu offers a variety of dishes with something sure to please everyone. Come experience the tastes of Nova Scotia for yourself.
